Ron Turkett –
Executive Lean Advisor
|
Ron Turkett is an Executive Lean Advisor for TSD, whose current responsibilities include a new lean plant and supply chain launch in Sri Lanka. For over 22 years, he has taught, trained, certified, and deployed Lean-Six Sigma principles and methods for both commercial and government organizations, where his strategic plans, management and employee training programs and implementation support have achieved significant improvements for such organizations as the U.S. Air Force, JD Powers, Volkswagen of America, General Motors, Toyota, AlliedSignal Automotive, ZF Lemforder, SPX and Delphi Automotive. He has been the lean sensei for facilities that have received the Shingo Prize for Manufacturing, and his experience has been gained in all operational areas and levels from worker to supervisor to executive.

Toyota, where he was a member of the management team for the launch of the Toyota's first U.S. plant. There he managed new program launches, production planning and scheduling and vehicle assembly and power train site productivity improvement, working closely with Fujio Cho, the current Toyota CEO.
Mr. Turkett's Six Sigma experience includes responsibility for implementing the original Global Six Sigma program at Allied Signal Automotive that saved $94M in its first year. He oversaw training and certification of Master Black Belts, Black Belts and Green Belts and supported hundreds of projects, with an average savings of over $125,000 per project. He coordinated the Global Master Black Belt Council that maintained the Six Sigma training curriculum, and integrated lean and Six Sigma training for managers.
In addition to his extensive practical experience, Mr. Turkett is a lean-Six Sigma academic, who spent four years as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Michigan's College of Engineering and Center for Professional Development, teaching Six Sigma, Lean and the integration of the two systems. Also, he developed and is lead instructor for University of Alabama's unique Lean Certification program.
